Hello. My name is Alison Cosentino. This is my sign name.
I have wanted to learn ASL for many years. Two years ago, I finally took my first ASL class. I decided I want to become fluent and gain the skills I need to communicate with the Deaf community so I went back to college to pursue a degree in ASL/English Interpreting at FSCJ.
Becoming an excellent interpreter is my new journey. Currently, I am focusing on expanding my ASL vocabulary and choosing my ASL words more efficiently for translation. I think my biggest strength is facial expression.
I use the clear guidelines provided in the CPC to understand and meet professional expectations.
My hope for the future is to have a Youth Weightlifting program that is inclusive of the youth in the Deaf community.
